Backpacks and School Pictures
Optional Backpacks The key word this year is flexibility!! After two days of seeing some kids struggle with their belongings and hearing from some parents we have made the district wide decision to allow optional backpacks.
Most kids in grades K-3 do not need them since they do not change classes or carry a lot of items. We want to reduce germs and clutter in the rooms so please only send a backpack if your student is struggling carrying things. Smaller backpacks or drawstring bags would be most appropriate; the ones we handed out are heavy and bulky.
Leaving the Parking Lot The line to leave the parking lot gets very long when people wait to turn left. Turning left is also very dangerous. In talking with the police and the city it is strongly recommended that you turn right when exiting the parking lot. You can then make a U-turn at Altamesa to head south.
School Pictures Next Monday, October 5th, is school picture day. Students need to be in uniform since these are also the yearbook pictures.
Distance Learners School Pictures Monday, October 5th, distance learners will be able to come in and take a school picture if they want to. We will have a camera set up downstairs in the hallway that is closest to the grass field. You will park and the student will go in those doors. Please sign up on the sign-up genius so we can maintain social distancing. Pictures will be between 10:00-1:30. Students do need to be in a red or navy polo for pictures. Students will need a face covering to walk in and out of the building. Please do not send any students who are not feeling well.
There will be a retake day on November 10th if you are unable to come on Monday.
