Great Start to School!

Tardies to School Everyone is doing a fantastic job of getting your children to school on time. It is very important to us as a school family to be together for our pledges and the minute of silence each morning. Thank you for continuing to do everything you can to get to school on time. Kindergarten students are ready to come straight into the gym in the mornings. Parents may continue to park and walk them to the family room or drop children in the car line.

Dismissal We know that our dismissal at the end of the day always takes longer on the first few days of school. Yesterday, our dismissal took right at one hour. We are very confident that this time will improve over the next few days. Our goal is to be able to complete the dismissal in the front lot in 30 minutes. Please remember, to have your green dismissal card in your windshield. If you do not have one you will need to park and come into the main office.

Student Drivers All high school students wishing to drive and park on campus must complete the Student Driver Registration form located on the HPA website at http://hpasfwelemsub.wpengine.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/StudentDriverRegistration.pdf. The completed form may be brought to the office in D building along with the student’s license and proof of insurance which will be copied for school records. In addition if you intend for younger siblings to ride with older brother/sister (must follow graduated driver license rules) please send an e-mail to that student’s principal giving permission for the student to ride with their sibling.

Snacks and After Care Our after care company, Be A Champion (BAC), is locating their dismissal in the front building. This has worked well in the past and we are excited about this change. We are working closely with BAC on the logistics so that you have a great experience. If you are interested in after care services, please visit their website at www.bachamp.org. We mentioned in an email on August 14th about the snacks that Be A Champion will be giving to all students at the end of the school day. We now realize that because it was in a paragraph entitled, “After Care” many of you may not have read it if you do not participate with after care. Our sincere apologies for this. We are pleased that Be A Champion is offering this service to all students. They are beginning this process this week with select classes and should be serving all classes by next week. Students are not required to eat the snack and teachers have received allergy information from our school nurse.

Thank you so much for being a part of the High Point family! Please feel free to contact either one of us, we are always happy to talk with you.
