HPA SFW - 08/07/2022 - Almost Time for Blast-Off!

Greetings Parents and Guardians, I hope this email finds everyone well and excited to get back to school! Your High Point Hawk teachers have been working very hard attending professional development and prepping lessons and classrooms for our astronauts in training to return to school! We hope to see you all this Thursday, August 11th, at Meet the Teacher! Last name: A-M come from 5-6pm and N-Z come from 6-7; if your designated time doesn't work for you then feel free to come whenever you can make it from 5-7pm. Please bring your child's school supplies. If you ordered through our PTO then the supplies will be in their classroom. Please also stop by and "Meet the Admin"! Ms. Armstrong and I will have a table set up in case you have any questions for us. Even if you don't have questions be sure to stop by and say HI! Things to Remember:

  • We do NOT have a cafeteria! Students need to bring their lunch everyday. We do not accept outside food deliveries. This includes parents dropping off fast food.

  • Drop-off begins at 7:30. Please do not drop your student earlier than that and have them stand in front of the building. It is not safe to leave students unsupervised.

  • Please turn right onto Crowley Road during drop off and dismissal times. It is VERY unsafe to turn left. It is safer to turn right and go down to make a u-turn

  • School hours are from 8:00am-3:45pm

  • An extra dose of patience is needed for the 1st week during dismissal. We want everyone to be safe. Many students, parents, and staff are new and we will all be using a new system. We will get your child to you as quickly as we can.

  • If your child takes medication please be sure to touch base with Mrs. May at Meet the Teacher

  • We have a uniform dress code in our district. Visit our website for details: www.thehighpointdifference.com

  • First Day of School is Monday, August 15th!!

Recently the Board voted to accept the updated 2022-23 Student Handbook as well as the Return to In-Person Instruction related to COVID-19. I have attached the links where you can read the documents. It is very important to be familiar with both of these documents. 2022-23 Student Handbook 2022-23 Return to In-Person Instruction
