Principal’s Note, 3rd Grade Fundraiser, Benchmark Testing and Dismissal

3rd Grade Fundraiser at Blaze Pizza, Open to Everyone

Tonight, our 3rd grade classes are hosting a fundraising event at Blaze Pizza from 5:00-8:00 p.m. For HPA to receive the funds, a digital copy or the actual flyer must be presented when you purchase your pizza.

We have also created a short but fun scavenger hunt! At Blaze Pizza, families will get a scavenger hunt paper to complete. The last task is to take a family selfie, upload it to your Facebook or Twitter and tag it with #blazefundsHPA. We will have a drawing for a chance to win a $20 gift card to Blaze Pizza!!! Winner will be announced Wednesday. Hope to see you there!

Benchmark Testing

Students in grades 3 – 11 are working very hard on their benchmark exams. Please congratulate them on their hard work! The data that these tests give us will help them be successful on the STAAR test.

Dual Credit Parent Information Night

Mrs. Williams, our counselor, is hosting a dual credit informational meeting this evening at 6:00 in the family room for sophomores and juniors. A representative from Texas Wesleyan will speak about the dual credit classes that we will offer next year and will discuss the benefits that come with taking dual credit classes. Sophomores and juniors we hope to see you tonight, we will have food on hand from Chick-Fil-A.

Dismissal

We have recently implemented some changes to our dismissal process for the front building. We are only a few days into the new changes and are already seeing improvements in our dismissal time. One change is that we are inputting student names into an app on our cell phones. I mention this to you so that you do not think we are texting while we are working the line. The picture below shows an empty church parking lot at 4:14! Our goal for finishing dismissal each day is 4:10.
