Dear HPA Families,
I am the new yearbook teacher this year and I am excited to report that our HPA students are hard at work designing our 2022-2023 yearbook that will be shipped out in May. In the meantime you can start ordering your yearbooks now. In fact, if you order your yearbooks by October 31st you will get 10% off the price.
I have included a link below for you to log on to the TreeRing website and create your account. From there you can order whenever it is convenient for you.
IMPORTANT: You will need to download the attached flyer because it has our school's passcode. That will connect your account directly to our school yearbook page.
Also If you create an account you will start receiving updates on the status of the yearbook.
We believe this will be our best yearbook yet and are excited to share all of the memories from this school year with you!

3rd Annual SOAR Gala
Dear HPA Family,
Our 3rd Annual SOAR Gala is just around the corner!
This Gala, a student-led event at High Point Academy is an art and travel-themed occasion to raise money toward our biennial group expedition, a school trip to Europe in March 2024. This adventure will build our skills in leadership and give us a once-in-a-lifetime travel experience while earning class credits.
The Gala includes a Silent Auction with tons of fun items, a dessert bar extravaganza, and live performances from our students and maybe a staff or two!! Everyone, from school personnel, students, family members, and anyone from the community are invited.
The Global Teen Leadership Club is a high school student-led committee that aims to expand our knowledge of diverse cultures and pave the way for each student’s future success. We strive to create a community of globally mature and service-oriented leaders who will help transform society through their knowledge of our world.
Here’s how you can help:
Contribute to our silent auction. Your tax-deductible donation of products, goods, services, and cash are all welcome. (Smaller items may be combined to make a “basket” or “package”.) If you know of anyone who has a business (ex: lawn service, a boutique and etc) that would like to "get the word out", this is a great place to do it, with a donation! We are happy to put business cards, flyers, or whatever you would like with your donation! Anyone that donates we will give out free tickets to the Gala.
Please mark your calendar now and plan to attend the auction on November 5th, 2022. Bring your friends and family for this fun night!

Nurse Notes
Dear Parents, Staff, and Community Members,
From time to time, I will send out public service announcements in an attempt to keep you informed about things that are happening that may cause our children to be unsafe.
Once again, there is a trend going around social media that children are participating in. This one is called the “One Chip Challenge.” It involves students eating a chip infused with Carolina Reaper and Scorpion peppers. These chips have been known to make people ill, cause discomfort and in some cases cause dangerous reactions, especially amongst younger children. The chips are made by a brand called Paqui and are readily available online, at 7-11 and at many local stores. Please speak to your children about the dangers of this challenge and do not send these chips to school.
Here are some links about the product and the “challenge.”

As always, the health and safety of our students and community remains our top priority. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
