SFW Elementary – Temporary Distance Learning K-6 Starting January 14, 2021

Temporary Distance Learning starting Tomorrow

Good afternoon,

Due to seasonal circumstances, the recent uptick of COVID cases and a consistent lack of substitute teachers, High Point Academy SFW finds it necessary to temporarily move to distance learning, as a precautionary measure, for five school days beginning tomorrow January 14, 2021. Students will distance learn tomorrow and Friday this week and again on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday next week (Monday, 1/18 is a holiday). All students will return to school in person on Friday, January 22, 2021, unless your student is sick or in quarantine.

During this period of temporary distance learning the building will undergo another deep cleaning and will be closed for the duration of this time period. Students will need to log into their devices to complete their distance learning work and to be counted present. Teachers will contact their specific classes about any Zoom meetings.

We would encourage everyone to stay home and not travel (unless absolutely necessary) and continue to check for the following COVID symptoms: Fever of 100.4 or higher Chills Cough Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing Fatigue Muscle or body aches Headache New loss of taste or smell Sore throat Congestion or runny nose Nausea or vomiting Diarrhea

Also, please notify Nurse Chasiti at chasiti.jones@hpafortworth.com if your student has a positive test result or someone that has had close contact with your student is positive.

I do apologize for any inconvenience this causes and please know this decision was not made lightly. We want everyone safe and healthy and we believe moving to distance learning temporarily will help ensure this.
