Week of January 4
Welcome to 2021!!! We are excited to start the second semester and look forward to seeing the students back in person on Tuesday, January 5th. Please make sure they bring back their technology and charger that was sent home over the break. Also, remember to send back the completed reading challenge.
Holiday Travel Just a reminder that if your student traveled outside the United States (Mexico, Canada, or any other country) they must quarantine for 14 days after your return before they may return to school.
For example: If you return from travel on January 1st the student cannot come to school until January 15th. If you have any questions you can contact me or Nurse Chasiti.
Symptom Screener and Sick Students Please screen your student every morning before sending them to school. If they have ANY of the following symptoms please keep them home and they can distance learn.
Symptoms: Fever of 100.4 or higher Chills Cough Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing Fatigue Muscle or body aches Headache New loss of taste or smell Sore throat Congestion or runny nose Nausea or vomiting Diarrhea
We will be doing periodic temperature checks and asking about symptoms throughout the school day. If a student is sent home with any of the COVID-19 symptoms the student will have to remain home for at least 14 days, symptoms must be gone and there is no fever without giving fever reducing medication OR a doctor’s note with an alternative diagnosis.
If you or someone in your family is waiting COVID test results please keep your student home until you know the results.
Also, please notify Nurse Chasiti at chasiti.jones@hpafortworth.com if your student has a positive test result or someone that has had close contact with your student is positive.
Yearbook Cover Contest Both Virtual and In Person High Point Academy students at the SFW campus are invited to enter their drawings in our Yearbook Cover Contest. 2 winners will be selected to have their art displayed on the front and back covers of the yearbook. Winners will be determined by Admin and the HPA Leadership Club. Entries not selected for the covers may receive Honorable Mention Inside the yearbook. Here is the form to submit with your student’s artwork
