Words from the Wizard--Week of September 5

Week of September 5

No School Monday

There is no school on Monday since it is Labor Day. We will see everyone back on Tuesday.

Drop off and Dismissal Lines

Please be courteous to the staff directing the lines as they are trying their best. There has been some confusion on a few things so I wanted to clarify:

1. We pull 10 cars at a time for the K-1 line and9 cars at a time for the 2-5 line.

2. Stay in your vehicle as getting out really slows things down. If you need to buckle your k-1st grader you can pull on the side of the building, get out and get them buckled.

3. Please get close to the car in front of you (don't hit anyone, but pull closer than you normally would)

4. NEVER enter the parking lot from the back gates (from the access road) The only entrance for personal vehicles is the gate next to the HPA sign off Western Hills Blvd.

Gate Entrance

All 4 gates are closed, so if you need entrance between 8:30-2:30 please call the school at 817-600-1735 and just wait patiently until we can open the gate. Please call, even if the security guard is at the gate so we can start gathering your student. We want the campus to be secured so thank you for your additional patience. The gate will open to allow people to line up for dismissal starting at 2:30. Please do not arrive prior to that.

Late Arrivals and Early Dismissals

Late Arrival

If you arrive after 8:00 please go straight, instead of through the S line, and drop students off at the main building. You will need to sign them in and we will walk them down to class. DO NOT JUST DRIVE STRAIGHT TO THE MODS! Cars are speeding around stopped vehicles that are following the rules. We need everyone to stop at the main building.

Early Dismissal

Please come directly to the main building so that you can sign your student out via the QR code on the building. Mrs. Donna will give you further instructions at that point. If you need to do an early dismissal please do so by 3:00, unless other arrangements have been made with me. After 3:00 the line starts filling up and it is very difficult to navigate your car and get your student.

PowerSchool--1st -5th grade

Powerschool is open for parents to be able to see grades and attendance. If you have logged in previously, please continue to use your same login information. If you have never logged in passwords and information were sent home. Only 1st-5th graders have PowerSchool logins. Kindergarten is standards-based and they do not have grades in PowerSchool. Please get in the habit of regularly checking your student's grades!Misc. items

--Please make sure your student has lunch every day

--Navy bottoms are NOT part of the dress code. Please make sure your student is in Khaki or plaid as well as a red/navy polo with a logo.

--Please send a refillable water bottle, the water fountains have bottle fillers

--Put your student's name on anything you send

--We are always in need of subs so if you are interested please fill out an application on our website!

Nurse Info

There have been several cases of COVID over the last week. Please make sure to monitor students for symptoms. Some of the symptoms we are seeing include congestion, sore throat, and headache, some have had fever and others have not. If your child tests positive for COVID please email Nurse Campbell at ashleigh.campbell@hpafortworth.com
